About

I’m a Christian, forty-something year old wife to my husband since 1986. Together we have 6 blessings (5 boys and 1 girl ages 18-3, but not in that order) and baby #7 is on the way!

We have 10 indoor cats and 4 dogs (all are fixed & and many are older than my children!). And just in case you are wondering–No, we do not have a big house–Sadly it’s rather small and we outgrew it years ago!

I LOVE being a mom–it is the most awesome, incredible privilege! I feel extremely blessed to be a stay-at-home mom and it is what I want to be the BEST at! I also homeschool our children, which is another privilege. I love the Lord, my family, tie-dye and coffee.

I started this blog because my husband is unemployed (he fell & shattered his hip then his employer laid him off after he had healed), but I will be continuing it after he gets a job because I continually strive to be frugal and thrifty while living on one income and want to help others do the same.

I am first and foremost a mom and my family will always come first. This does not mean I am trying to run a useless, skimpy blog, I’m just trying to explain that I may not always have the most recent sales or deals posted as others do, but I can assure you that I will do my best to bring you useful, practical information.

Like many of you, we are struggling in this economy and I don’t have any “magic” answers, but my goal is to share ways of how we are trying to survive, as well as share new resources as I find them, and I sincerely hope they will be helpful to you.

I post a variety of Freebies because I think it is fun to receive free samples and such, and who doesn’t like FREE anyway?

I’ll also share giveaways that I find, as well as provide my own giveaways as they become available.

I love to read readers’ comments, so don’t be shy–comment away! I also welcome your thoughts or suggestions so please feel free to contact me.

You can find and follow me on Twitter–I’d love for you to join me!

Things I’m Sure You’re Wondering:

Do you have any hobbies?
I really enjoy feeding the outdoor birds and wildlife. I’ve done it for over 12 years and I still love it! I also enjoy looking through pictures of my kids and family.

How did you and your husband meet?
We actually met on a blind date–the first and last for both of us! 🙂

Are all six children yours?
Yes they are, and I’m very grateful for each one!

Are any of them adopted?
No, I birthed them all naturally, praise God.

Have you always been such a “Fertile Myrtle”?
No, actually I have not. Ironically, after the birth of our first child, my husband and I BOTH suffered secondary infertility and had different medical procedures done in hopes of correcting our situation. We also took a fertility medication when trying to conceive our second child. Over the years, I have suffered a few miscarriages and we have 4 babies in heaven. However, we owe all the glory to God for blessing us with the children He has!

Are you going to have any more?
Yes, matter of fact, I’m pregnant with our 7th and Lord willing, she will be born in November.

What is your religion?
We don’t have a religion–we have a relationship. We are Bible believing, Born-Again Christians. We believe Jesus Christ is the one and only way to the Father, and that you must believe in Him to have eternal life.

Do you have any favorite bible verses?
Yes I have a few:

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Phillipians 4:13 KJV

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28 KJV
